Last year I graduated from a technical school as a Medical Assistant. It was a poor decision to attend this school because the quality of the education was substandard. For example the software for medical billing wasn’t working and the instructor for the clinical part was inexperienced. To make matters worse, I was put into an externship site that was a nonprofit organization (a medical clinic for nonpaying patients) where I didn’t do much of anything. All these concerns were addressed to the administration but fell on deaf ears.
Now a year later, I still haven’t found a job in the medical field yet. Should I consider going back to school for a different career or still keep looking?

I’ve worked in medical billing for close to 20 yrs. Any ideas how I could migrate my experiences to another profession. I’m going back to college for Criminal Justice. But I need to work. My experience is coding, accounts receivable, medical claims denials, assist in managing billing office, managing billing software, generating, analyzing gain and loss reports, daily close, monthly close, in of fiscal year close. Any ideas..anyone. My mind draws a blank.
